HARVEST FESTIVAL: 4 Days of Wine, Grapes & Village Life in Moldova Sept 20–23 | Riviera Nistrului, Moldova

 

Start your journey on September 20 with a once-a-year celebration in Cocieri Village – it’s Hramul Satului, the village day! Expect an explosion of tradition and fun: wrestling matches where the winners take home a goat or a rooster, ping pong tournaments, traditional music, dancing, local food, and an electric festival atmosphere you’ll never forget.

The next day, Sunday, Sept 21, we slow things down. We’ll explore the stunning Riviera Nistrului, hike through scenic villages like Molovata Nouă, Cocieri, and Roghi, enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the Nistru River, and end the day with a relaxed sunset BBQ by the water.

 

On Sept 22–23, we head to Molovata Nouă for two days of hands-on grape harvesting. You’ll join locals in the fields during the day, then crush the grapes the old-fashioned way in the evening — and of course, taste the fresh must. It’s physically challenging, but grounding, rewarding, and even therapeutic.

 

- We’ll be sleeping at the charming Peasants’ Museum, surrounded by history and rustic beauty.

- Dinners will be shared in the homes of local villagers, where you’ll be treated to authentic Moldovan dishes like zeamă, plăcinte, sarmale, and homemade pickles — real flavors, made with love.

This 4-day adventure costs 1999 MDL, and includes 3 nights of accommodation, 3 traditional meals per day, and all activities.
