Nicolae Sulac was an iconic folk singer from the Republic of Moldova, active from the 1950s until his death in 2003. He was a lead vocalist for the ensembles Doina, Fluieraș and Lăutarii, and was honored as People’s Artist and with the Order of the Republic. His best-known songs include “Ce frumos mai cântă cucul,” “Tinerețe, tinerețe” and “Floarea lui Sulac.”
