Ștefan Petrache (May 8 1949 – January 13 2020) was a Moldovan singer, leading vocalist of the bands Noroc, Orizont, Contemporanul and Plai. His style blended folk-inspired motifs with modern arrangements, and his popular songs include “De-aș avea”, “În august” and “Chemarea casei părintești”. He was awarded the titles Merited Artist (1986), People’s Artist (2010) and the Order of the Republic (2014).
