Riesling – born on the banks of the Rhine – is considered one of the most noble and versatile white grape varieties in the world. With a history of more than 600 years, it has impressed winemakers with its vibrant acidity, citrus and floral aromas, and those unique benzoic notes that develop gracefully with age.
In Moldova, Riesling was introduced during the interwar period and quickly found strong roots in our terroir. The cool climate of the Codru region and its limestone soils created ideal conditions for it to express itself differently than in its homeland – crisp, mineral wines with surprising complexity. Today, Moldovan Riesling stands as an ambassador of quality and refinement, proving that our country has much to offer on the international stage.
