Wine Republic invites you to a special tasting evening dedicated to one of the most elegant white wine grapes: Chardonnay Barique – Blind Battle, where judgment is based solely on taste.

You’ll experience 6 Chardonnay wines aged in oak barrels, each from a different producer, showcasing the diversity of terroir, winemaking philosophy, and barrique influence.

All wines will be served blind, with labels hidden to allow an honest and unbiased sensory evaluation. At the end, the wines will be revealed and your favorites uncovered.

Chardonnay, originally from Burgundy, France, was introduced to Moldova in the 1960s–70s, thanks to its adaptability to various climates and soils. It has since become one of Moldova’s most cherished white varieties, known for its versatility – from fresh and fruity to rich and creamy styles.

Barrel aging, a tradition born in Burgundy, gives wines structure and complexity, adding notes of vanilla, toast, and subtle spices. In Moldova, more and more producers are embracing this technique to craft refined and elegant wines.

The tasting will be guided by expert sommelier Vadim Brînzeanu, who will share insights into each wine’s story and the barrique method.
