We will discover the wines of Domaine La Prut, a boutique winery from Gherman village, Ungheni district, where local terroir is brought to life with Austrian precision and style.

The Story of Domaine La Prut

Founded with the vision of the Austrian Pfanner family — renowned for over a century of winemaking and juice production — Domaine La Prut embodies a fusion between Moldovan tradition and Austrian excellence.
The estate covers about 13 hectares on the banks of the Prut River, where international varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Saperavi, and Merlot meet local grapes such as Fetească Regală and Fetească Neagră, creating an elegant balance of character and soul.

“Every drop of wine expresses the individuality of the Austrian Pfanner family” — this is the philosophy behind Domaine La Prut, where respect for nature and European standards blend with Moldovan passion.

The Winemaker – Valerian Scutelnic

Young winemaker Valerian Scutelnic is the heart and mind behind these wines. Part of a new generation of Moldovan enologists, he brings a meticulous and modern approach: low yields, hand-picked grapes, and a pursuit of purity, balance, and terroir expression.
“We want to create wines that speak of their origin — but with the refinement of Western Europe,” says Valerian.

The evening will be guided by winemaker Valerian Scutelnic and Wine Republic’s Chef Sommelier Vadim Brînzeanu, who will lead you through a sensory journey of European elegance and Moldovan soul.
