The SheMakes.md women’s community, together with a guest expert — psychologist Valeria Ozdamar — invites you to a unique workshop, “My Body: From Standards to Self”, on August 22 at 12:00.
We often treat our bodies as projects that constantly need to be improved, shaped according to certain standards, and made to meet other people’s expectations and judgments. Over time, this external gaze becomes our own, and it can become difficult to understand what we truly want for ourselves.
During the workshop, we will talk about:
• why we get used to evaluating ourselves from the outside;
• how to reconnect with our bodies;
• how to distinguish our own desires from imposed standards;
• we will practice the “Body Compass”, a practical tool that can help us make decisions based on ourselves rather than on other people’s expectations.
After the workshop, you will:
• better understand which beliefs influence the way you relate to your appearance;
• learn to distinguish your own desires from imposed norms;
• gain a practical tool you can use in everyday life;
• experience a supportive, judgment-free space without unsolicited advice.
Who is it for?
For women who are tired of constant pressure around their appearance and want to build a calmer, kinder relationship with their bodies.
Facilitator: Valeria Ozdamar — psychologist, feminist activist, practicing specialist.
